Well, another tax day come and gone.  Another year of feeding the governments insatiable appetite.  What would be better?   Reducing government spending or reducing taxes?   Give us your thoughts and reasons why.

Much has been made of the continuing gaffes by Obama.  Some label him an elitist.  Others say he is arragont.  His experience as a state senator leaves lots of unansewered questions.   Will he have an impact on Illinois candidates down the ticket?   At one point, his place on the ballot was viewed with alarm by the Republicans.  Now, they may be looking at the picture much differently.  How will Obama impact the election in Illinois?  Charlie Cook offers some interesting insight this week in his column.

An article in the Edwardsville paper reports on a resolution debated at a Madison County committee meeting concerning the 2cd amendment.   The resolution was not passed out of committee.  Nonbinding resoutions have been debated and passed by the County board in the past.   What do you think about this issue? MadisonCountyRepublicans.com has been doing some housecleaning, including moving to a new server, which has brought us up to date for 2008.  Unfortunately, our content from the 2006 election cycle has not migrated with us, nor has the registrations for the several authors and commenters.  We encourage you to re-register with us and we’ll soon be bringing back our authors to help move MadisonCountyRepublicans.com forward.  Thankfully, our new interface will be blocking much of the comment spam that was making this site very bulky and hard to use.
