The local county board races will see seven contested races.   Chris Wangard from Troy, Steve Adler from godfrey, and Michelle Ruppert from Bethalto are current board members seeking election to another term.

Levees

This question has been asked before, but the issue of the levees and the sales tax to support their repair is moving closer to happening.  What will be the impact on the communities above to bluffs on paying the extra 1/4 per cent sales tax?  Is there a better way to fund the improvements? 

County Board Races

An article in the Edwardsville paper reports on a resolution debated at a Madison County committee meeting concerning the 2cd amendment.   The resolution was not passed out of committee.  Nonbinding resoutions have been debated and passed by the County board in the past.   What do you think about this issue?

Article in St. Louis Post discusses the abuse of the sick leave policy and how it cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to the taxpayers.  The policy is outdated and virtually unheard of in private industry.  How does Madison County and the local communities do in comparison?
